The Island Band's History and Mission

We are the Island Band. You can find us throughout the summer months marching all across Central NY in local parades and events. There is no way to miss us with our Island shirts, fun music and zany attitudes. An unconventional approach to parade marching.
The Island Band is made up of individuals from all ends of life. From professional teachers to architect; State troopers to business managers; post office staff to master plumbers; and retirees to students. We all come together to play music and create smiles. The groups common thread is pure musical enjoyment. Our show breaks the barriers of traditional straight line parades and tease judges who attempt to critique our crazy style. So, if you see us appear in your neck of the woods, drop your conversations, let your hair down, and join the conga line. It’s going to be a party to remember!
